RESPONSES OF EUROPEAN OF INTERNATIONAL PROCESSES IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES OF SERBIA

Chief of Delegation of EU in the Republic of Serbia, His Excellency Ambassador Michael Davenport, within the programme `Debate on matters important for the process of EU integration and relation of Serbia and EU` met the presidents of Nis city municipalities, representatives of the authorities of the City of Nis and Head of Nisava Administration District.

On this occasion, Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, introduced Devenport with the project activities of this Municipality that stands on this point as one of the leading in the region and with the problems that influence the realization of even more better results. Discussion on European integration processes, that was realized by EU info corner Nis,, was continued with the students of University and young people from the City of Nis in the hall of Nis University. During the afternoon, in the gallery of Serbia, the project fair was organized that was called `EU and Serbia in action` and which is financed by EU. This event was organized by the Delegation of European Union in Serbia with the Office for European integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Informational center of EU in Belgrade and EU Info Corner in Nis. Various different sectors - health, education, social protection,cultural, media and civil society, local development, innovation and competitiveness, as well as programmes of cross border cooperation that was financially supported by EU and that were realized in the cooperation with the institutions of the Republic of Serbia and from which the use had the citizens as final users, were all presented.

According to the words of Michael Deveport, from 2000 until today, EU invested about three billion of euros to help the Republic of Serbia.
